They hunt and also raise livestock amid the beautiful mountain range. Maybe if we had such lands, we could have done better, but Death Valley is not a kind place. I’ve set off to find this pack, this Triple L. Ranch in hopes that it will be the home I’ve sought. I will approach their alphas and beg them to take me in. I will work hard, and I have no expectations beyond shelter and food…I’ve given up on hopes of finding a mate.

It took a lot of love and sweat to create the small but bountiful garden Levi and I planted around our small home just outside Reno. But when developers bought the ranch land it was on, they tore it all down. Everything. Levi was heartbroken as they bulldozed our baby trees and flowers and vegetables. I have loved him for years, and watching him date one male after another was hard. Pretending to just care for him as a friend. Our destroyed home left him bitter and angry, and I feared where all that might lead, so I convinced him to return to the Triple L. Ranch. Once we’re settled, I’ll get my own place there because it’s not fair to either of us to live a lie. Sometimes I think he feels the same way I do…but it’s like we need a catalyst. Something is missing in our chemistry, but I don’t know what.
