Since his divorce, which was caused at least in part by his unhappiness at being the heir apparent to his family cattle ranch, Logan has refused to make any commitments. When he realizes he has fallen in love with Maggie, he panics and jumps at the chance to move on to his next assignment.
Logan’s decision to continue his no-strings life rocks Maggie, bringing to the surface painful feelings of abandonment that began with her mother’s death and her father’s abandonment.
